Carrie Johnson- Wright Obituary


Carrie Johnson Wright was born on March 11, 1951 on St. Helena Island South Carolina to the late Joe Ramsey Johnson and Eliza Johnson. 
When Carrie was 7 years old, her family moved to Brooklyn, New York and she became a member of Amos Chapel Baptist Church. Carrie was educated in the New York City public school system and she graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1970. While in high school, she volunteered as a candy striper at the hospital. Immediately after graduating from high school she got a job at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. 
On July 31, 1976, she married the late Isaac Wright. In June of 1986, she began her career in the United States Post Office until she retired. In 1991, Carrie became a member of Bridge Street AWME church in Brooklyn New York and volunteered to feed the homeless and gave out clothes there.
Carrie Johnson-Wright entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 16, 2019 at her residence. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Johnson.
Carrie leaves to cherish her loving memories: sister, Florence Shirl Bornett; two brothers, George Johnson and Leroy Johnson; her niece, Selina Johnson; her nephews, Hassan Johnson, Isaac Johnson and Leroy Jabari Johnson; her grand niece,  Nia Johnson; great grand  nephew, Ishmael Johnson; three aunts, Lena Burton, Izetta Miller and Gloria Pum Miller; three uncles, Ralph Buster Johnson, George Ladson and Reverend Jack Ladson; along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
