Martha Louise Bush, 78, the daughter of the late Rufus Bush and Florence Grant-Bush, was born on March 14, 1941 in Bluffton, SC. She was affecionately called “LaLa”
Martha was educated at the Okatie School and M. C. Riley. She was employed at Harbourtown Grille, as a cook for over 26 years. Martha was a member of First Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years.
On Monday June 24, 2019, Martha was called to eternal rest and released from her pain and suffering. Martha was preceded in death by three brothers; George Bush IV, Jacob Bush, and Leonard Brown; and one sister, Dorothy Mae Bush.
Her memories will be forever cherished by her three daughters; Linda (Henry) Willis, and Lana Bush, both of Bluffton, SC, and Alisia (Michelle) Bush, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; four sons, Rufus (Jacquelyn) Bush of Hardeeville, SC, Kevin (Edith) Bush, Wesley Bush and Mark (LaTonya) Bush, all of Bluffton, SC; one adopted son, Arnold Bush, of Virginia; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Claire) Bush; three sisters, Mildred Bush-Perry, Mariah Fields and her ‘Baby Sis,’ Frankie Mae (Charlie) Young, all of Bluffton, SC; a very special sister-in-law, Lucinda Bush, of Bluffton, SC; one goddaughter, Joyce “Lane” Bruin, of Bluffton, SC; two godsons, George Bush V, of Bluffton, SC and Derrick (Patrice) Chisolm, of Hilton Head, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by a very devoted friend Mary “Sister” Fields.
