Alfred Simmons Obituary

Alfred Simmons, 78, of Ridgeland, SC passed away at MUSC, Charleston, SC, on Monday, August 8, 2022. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.


Alfred Simmons the son of the late Alton Shuler and Ester Simmons Primus was born July 4, 1944, in Ridgeland, SC. Alfred was educated in the public schools of Jasper County. He was a member of St. Stephens Methodist Church in Ridgeland, SC. 
In May of 1969, he was drafted into the US Army where he did a tour in Vietnam. Druing his tour of duty he recieved a Marksmanship Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal along with many other accommodations.  After returning home from serving his country, he was employed at Wayne Line Manufacturing Company. He later joined the Greenery Inc. where he retired after being a dedicated employee for over 40 years. 
Alfred was kind to everyone he came in contact with, and he was a man of peace. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Alfred enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports and game shows and fishing. He was well known for his delicious cooking.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony on June 24, 2009, to his loving wife Treniecia Green. This union was blessed with a blended family that will deeply miss him. 
On Monday, August 8, 2022, God called Alfred Simmons from labor to reward, he is now resting in the glory of the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, who reared him: Lucinda Williams Simmons; mother in law: Dorothy Green; father in law: James King, Sr.; his siblings: Cornelius Wright, Sr, Israel and Edward Primus; his son: John Deloach and grandchildren: Ronald Aikens and Paris Martin.
Precious memories he leaves to his wife: Treniecia Simmons; his children: Alfreda Mikell, Allen (Latrice) Deloach, Sr., Peteshia Robinson, Ogurian Simmons, Melissa Brown, Julia Wright, Juanita Deloach, and Medicus (Shaveia) Deloach, Sr. all of Ridgeland, SC; his siblings: Bertha Lee (Johnny) Mitchell of Miami, FL, Ester Marie Primus, Amarine Singleton, Albertus and Leola Heyward all of Ridgeland, SC, Vivian Wallace and Loretta Brown of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Hughes of Savannah, GA, Maryann (James) Green of Philadelphia, PA, Willie Joe Primus of Ridgeland, SC and Joseph (Betty) Wright of Hilton Head, SC; sisters in law: Tanika Green of Atlanta, GA, Lakanya Green, Kimberly King, Patricia (Louis) Frazier, and Debra (Welkie) White all of Ridgeland, SC; brothers in law: Kenneth (Sonja) Green of Jacksonville, FL, Anthony King of Ridgeland, SC, James (Serita) King, Jr. of Connecticut; his  goddaughter: Lillyanna Lanido of Atlanta, GA and a special friend: Michael Heyward of Ridgeland, SC; 27 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
