Alvin Hamilton Obituary


Mr. Alvin Benjamin Hamilton, 65, of Hilton Head SC. He was the father of Jamillah Miller, Dorian, and Lauren Hamilton., passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 13, 2020. Funeral Services will be held on Wed. Sept. 23, 2020, at 11 AM at Allen Funeral Home, Ridgeland Complex outside under the canopy with chairs. Allen Funeral Home in Ridgeland, SC is in charge. 

Alvin Benjamin Hamilton was born in Savannah, GA on April 3, 1955. He was the son of the late Preston Hamilton Jr and Maggie Grayson Hamilton. 
Alvin received his early education training and graduated from Ridgeland High School in 1972 in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Immediately following graduation he attended Beaufort Technical College.

Alvin was joined in Holy Matrimony to Pamela Jaudon on August 24, 1973. To this union, God blessed them with five children, two boys and three girls of which two transitioned. In 1978 Alvin began his career at Hilton Head Hospital as a surgical technician in the operating room. During his tenure at Hilton Head Hospital Alvin received several awards and recognitions. While still employed with Hilton Head Hospital, Alvin became the supervisor in the central supply department. Alvin remained at Hilton Head Hospital until he retired in April of 2020. Upon his retirement, Alvin became a Notary Public in the state of South Carolina with the intent to begin his Mobile Notary Business. 

Alvin loved his lord & savory Jesus Christ. He enjoyed football, playing the guitar, drawing, singing, dancing, collecting coins, writing poems, and spending time with his family. Alvin was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Faith Church in Gillisonville, SC. 

Alvin made his triumphant transition to glory on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at his home on Hilton Head Island, SC. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Preston and Maggie Hamilton, Roosevelt and Virginia Grayson, and Preston and Constance Hamilton.

Alvin will be affectionately remembered by his wife Pamela Hamilton of Bluffton, SC, son Doriaun K. Hamilton (Kim), daughter Jamillah Miller (Clifford) of Hilton Head Island, SC, daughter Lauren Hamilton of Alexandria, Virginia; Granddaughter Cadence Johnson, Grandson Clifford Miller IV, Granddaughter Naima Miller; Four sisters Habibah Ismael of Gillisonville, SC, Justine Brantley of Gillisonville, Alfreda Harris (Mark) of Ridgeland, SC, Alina Clark (Darrin) of Gillisonville; Three brothers Bernard Hamilton of Hilton Head Island, SC, Millard Hamilton of Hilton Head Island, SC, Alti Hamilton (April) of Gillisonville, SC; Four Godchildren Saudah Muhammad (John), Tonia Greene (Terrence) of Irmo, SC, Lyndsay Gentry (Kenneth) of Charlotte, NC and Rashad Brown (Keyia) of Columbia, SC. He leaves to cherish his memories a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
