Andrew Thomas, 70, of St Helena Island, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at Bayview Manor in Beaufort, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.

A viewing for Mr. Andrew Thomas will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6 PM to 7 PM at Allen Funeral Home in Beaufort (1508 Duke Street). The Funeral Service will be on January 13, 2023, at Ebenezer Baptist Church on St. Helena Island at 11 AM. The interment will follow in Frogmore Cemetery on St. Helena Island, SC.

Andrew Thomas was born on May 26, 1952, to the late Wilhelmina Thomas Cohen (William Cohen) and the late Andrew Heyward.
Andrew was educated at Saint Helena School on St. Helena Island, SC. He was a grauate of the class of 1970. He later moved to New York, NY, where he worked as a welder for serval companies until he returned back home to St. Helena Island , SC. Andrew gained employement with McDonald’s and Grayco. He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Leonard Ritter, Sr. 
Andrew was smart at the mouth, but also a very loving and caring person. After his health began to decline the family decided to move him into the care of Bayview Nursing Home of Beaufort. On January 9, 2023, in early hours morning he answered the Master’s call and went home to be with the Lord. Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, grandparent, a brother William Cohen Jr., and sister Yvonne Cohen.
Andrew is survived by his brothers; Arthur and Kenneth Cohen of St. Helena Island, SC, his siters; Julia Ravenell of St. Helena Isl., and Lilian Dasher of Beaufort, SC, aunt Christina Holmes, and a sister-in-law Vanessa Cohen, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
