Mrs. Anthony Ann Knox, 71, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, in Baltimore, Maryland. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home in Ridgeland. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.
Mrs. Anthony “Ann” Knox was born on November 19, 1949, to Mrs. Verlean Habersham (late James) Kinsey and to the Late Mr. William
and Mrs. Alice B Clark of Ridgeland, South Carolina. Mrs. Ann Moved to Harlem N.Y. where she met and married
her late husband Mr. Sonny L. Knox in July 8, 1971. Mrs. Ann Later returned to Ridgeland, where she graduated
from Ridgeland High School Adult Class with a High School Diploma. Mrs. Ann held many jobs where she was loved by so many
people, Sea Pines Service, Holiday Inn Resort, Private Cleaning Services, and most of all she enjoyed being a school bus driver for Jasper County
School District. Mrs. Ann Knox loved driving that yellow school bus, if you or your child(ren) rode her bus, you would’ve known by the music playing,
she always had candy in her bag and every child had a safe ride home even if it wasn’t on her route, she saw that every child arrived safety to their homes. She later retired from Jasper County School District. She Was a member of New Zion Baptist Church where she
served on the usher board. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling with her traveling tournament team (Savannah, GA), playing cards, bingo, crossword puzzles, she also enjoyed dancing she and Aunt Beck would tear up a dance floor. She enjoyed living life. Mrs. Ann was preceded in death by her late husband Mr. Sonny
L. Knox II, her brothers; Joshlyn, Jesse (Albany, NY), Donald, David, Nicholas McKinsey (Harlem, NY), Edward Lawrence (Ridgeland, SC)
Joseph (Harlem, NY) Clark; sisters: Deborah Bacon, Yvonne Tresvant both of Atlanta, GA, and Narlean Jones of Bronx, NY.
She leaves to cherish those wonderful memories to her mother Mrs. Verlean McKinsey Jones (Harlem, NY); her three children, Darrin
(Alina) Clark of Ridgeland, SC, Donald Clark (Crystal) of NY, Ms. Darleane J. Knox of Maryland, God son, Rashad Baptise of Ridgeland,
SC, Brothers: Nathaniel, Nicola, Nelson of New York, Sisters: Allison of Ridgeland, Roberta McKinsey of Bronx, NY, Niagara Jones Harlem, NY,
brothers and sisters In Laws Howard and Reba Hayes of Loris, SC, Henry James and Pearlie Bell of Bronx,NY, Lester of New York, Levi of Loris, SC,
and a host of grandchildren, great-grands, nieces, nephews and friends.
