Barbara Redden "Squeaky", 63, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Barbara Laverne Redden, known to many as “Squeaky”, was born on September 21, 1957, in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Martha Singleton. Squeaky received her formal education in the Jasper County School Systems and was a member of the graduating class of 1975. In 1990, she accepted Christ as her savior. She was a very active member of many Pentecostal ministries throughout her life. Prior to her health failure, she was a devoted member of New Birth Center under the leadership of Apostle Nika Brown in Florence, South Carolina. She and her devoted friend, Apostle Ida Singleton started an online ministry she named “SIS” Sisters Impacting Sisters. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the New Redeemed Church of God in Christ of Jacksonville, Florida. Squeaky was a woman with many hats. She was a hospitality aid with the Marriott Hotel Chain and was known for her love of cooking, spending time with family, fashion, and always stepped out in her heels. In the early morning hours of September 5, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville Florida, she was called from labor to reward. She was preceded in death by her husband of nineteen years Charles Redden. Her siblings Joellen Singleton, Kenneth Singleton, Daniel Singleton, Carolyn Wright and a great-grandson Prince Holmes all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Joe Singleton of Ridgeland, SC, Katina (Terrance) Frazier, Quanesha (Adrian) Simmons, and Jaliesa (Cameron) Cherry all of Jacksonville, FL; her Godmother, Emmerine Quarterman of Hartsville, SC; a loving Goddaughter, Stanielle Jett of Darlington, SC; special daughter, Shontel Marshall; her siblings, Rose Nelson, Richard (India) Singleton and Anthony Singleton all of Ridgeland, SC; one uncle, Mr. Leo Gadson, Jr. of Coosawhatchie, SC; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
