Carolyn Johnson, 70, of Saint Helena Island SC, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Sprenger HealthCare Bluffton. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Carolyn Green was born on October 24, 1950, to the late Frank and Carrie Belle Green. Carolyn received her formal education in Beaufort County School system graduating from St. Helena Highschool. She moved to New York City, where she worked various positions with U.N.I.C.E.F. She later received a position at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as a secretary and Administrative assistant. She worked there for serval years before returning to her hometown in South Carolina.
She met and fell in love with James Johnson and they were joined in Holy Matrimony in 1992. This marriage was blessed with 29 years. She was employed at the Naval Hospital and later at Beaufort Memorial, where she retired. She was a member of Adam street Baptist Church.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, auntie, niece, cousin, friend. A very delightful person, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially at family gatherings. She always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart.
Carolyn was called home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2021, she was preceded in death by her brother Harold Brown.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving husband of 29 years James Johnson, two daughters; Wanda Greene of Beaufort, SC and Serena Greene of St. Helena Island, her step daughter Leta Goines, two sibilings; sister Rameda, and brother Ernie Coaxum, her family was extended with three grandchildren, two girls; Shana and Sherida Green, and her only grandson Jamal Ramey, 11 great grandchildren, Shalaya, Shanaya, Shagiree, Shamree, Shakyree, Sharaya, Cater, Shaequan, Ky’lee, Santana, Gunner, Special friends; Flossie Brodus, Lillie Bell, Queen Orage, Cythina Campbell, Sharon Brown, Dominick Lesesene, Percnia Cuthbert, Aleathia Greene, Helen Smalls and a host of special friends and family.
