Charlie “Buster” Owens Jr. was born on April 9, 1942, in Walterboro, SC to the late Buster and Minne Owens. Charlie received his formal education in Walterboro Public Schools.
Prior to Mr. Charlie having Ms. Caretha Fredrick as a special friend for 31 years, he was joined in Holy matrimony for 27 years to Chrisalee Owens, too that union nine children were born.
Charlie was a name that was given at birth but everyone knew him by: Daddy, Buster, Junior boy, or Gunsmoke. Buster was a logger and have been for many years. He loved the logging woods. Buster was a family man. One of Buster’s prize possessions was his children and the ones adopted in his heart as his own. Buster always bragged about having nine children including a set of twins. He would always show off his children to people in the community, when they came up to Allendale, SC. 
Buster was also a man of many words. Buster was a man who never met a stranger and he was afraid of no one. He was a man that would test your fighting abilities, it was then if you passed the test, you could become his friend. In times passed, he enjoyed visiting family from afar. Buster always had the mentality that his car was the fastest in its class and that no one can beat him physically. Buster loved music, he was a known DJ in Allendale, SC, often times hosting many parties. He loved going to the flea market and visiting family on the weekends.
On Wednesday, April 28,2021 Charlie Buster Owens Jr. passed away at his home in Allendale, SC, where he was cared for by Ms. Caretha Fredrick. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Chrisalee Owens, and two sons.
Those left to cherish his memories: A special friend of 31 Years, Ms. Caretha Fredrick, two sons; Tyrone Owens of Walterboro, SC, and Richard (Ramona) Owens of Beaufort, SC, five daughters; Linda Drain, Annette (Timmy) Mitchell, Jennette Owens, Denise Owens, and Christy Owens all of Walterboro, SC, two sisters; Helen (Lee) Little of Philadelphia, and Bertha Owens of New Jersey, one aunt; Jeannette (Bernard) Maxius of Winter Haven, Fla., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
