Claretha Moran Brisbane, 79, wife of Benjamin Brisbane of Saint Helena Island, transitioned Monday February 20, 2023 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
The wake is on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home 4pm-7pm.

Mrs. Brisbane was born on January 25, 1944, in St. Helena Island, SC. She was the only daughter of the late George Moran and Rita Mae Black. She attended St. Helena high School and graduated with the class of 1962 and was an active member Alumni member. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Kerwin Brisbane and her brothers; Harry Moran and George Moran, Jr.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Julie Nelson (SHI, SC), Lisa Brisbane-Pinckney (Henry Pinckney) (Bronx, NY) and Michele Brisbane (SHI, SC). Aunt, Rosalee Balkcom (NY, NY), Sister-in-law, Sharon Moran (Omaha, NB)
Eight grandchildren –Dante Stevenson (Bronx, NY), Kierra Nelson, Adia Witterr (Antwan Witter) (SHI, SC), Maurice Burries, Jr (ATL, GA), Keith Brisbane (Troy, NY), Kevin Brisbane (NY,NY), Dwachel Seignious (SHI, SC), Dionna Davis (Alston, TX).
Eleven Great-grandchildren and counting, many cousins, classmates and book club members. Special friends, Linda Lubliner, Willie-Mae Grant, Bethesda Christian Fellowships – kitchen ministry members.
