Cora Simmons

Cora Elaine Simmons, daughter of the late Charlie “Macon” Simmons and Arabell “Sweetie” Simmons Williams, was born on March 19, 1958, on St. Helena Island, South Carolina.
Cora was instituted at an early age in Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, New York, a state-supported institution for children with intellectual disabilities.
Cora loved to dance, listen to gospel music and eat cake and ice cream.
Cora entered into eternal rest, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at The House of Wagon Branch in Ridgeland, SC. She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Simmons, and two elder sisters: Barbara Jean Simmons Coine and Shelia Simmons Morgan.
She leaves cherished memories with her mother Arabell Williams; four sisters: Susie Simmons, Leah Williams (Curtis), Christina Johnson all of St. Helena Island, SC and Blondell Williams (David) of Allenhurst, GA; one brother: Ronald Simmons of Port Royal, SC; three maternal uncles: Curtis Miller of St. Helena Island, SC, Jimmy Miller of New Jersey and Freddie Miller of New York. 
Cora will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to be graced by her presence to include The House of Wagon Branch Staff and residence.

Cora Simmons, 63 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at The House of Wagon Branch. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 12 noon at Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Beaufort, SC.  We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
