Cynthia Stembridge

Cynthia Maria Smart-Stembridge was born February 9, 1960, to Joseph Smart and Ruth Cuyler-Smart in Savannah, GA. Cynthia was the oldest of four children. 
Cynthia moved to New Jersey where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978, where she met Eugene Stembridge they were joined in Holy Matrimony this union was blessed with a son, Desmond S. Stembridge. 
Cynthia then had a daughter with Jeremiah McClees and named her Shante D. McClees, in Newark, New Jersey. Cynthia moved to Pineland, SC in 1997 where she would live the rest of her days watching her children and grandchildren grow up.
A loving mother, aunt, wife, sister, and friend, Cynthia was a remarkable woman, helping anyone in need no matter the circumstances. Cynthia loved children and working with individuals with disabilities. 
Cynthia lived a life full of love, laughter, and beauty. Her presence was undeniable, and she made everyone who she came into contact feel loved. 
Cynthia entered heaven’s gate on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Hilton Head Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; her siblings: Jimmie Smart and Ramona Smart-Green. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Cynthia is survived by her children: Desmond and Shante; brother, Willie Smart; six grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and caring friends.
