David Orage

Mr. David Orage, 83, a native of Ridgeland, SC, the husband of Virgie Mae Orage, passed away at the Pruitt Health Facility in Ridgeway, SC, on Thursday, September 24, 2020.  A viewing will be Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, 5-7 pm Ridgeland Chapel. Funeral Services are Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at 11 am at the Ridgeland Chapel. Allen Funeral Home in Ridgeland, SC is in charge.

David Orage was born in Hilton Head Island, SC on September 11, 1937. He was the son of the late Deacon Richard Orage and Beulah Orage.

David Orage was a DJ during the early part of his life and later he decided on a  career in the electrical industry. David worked as an electrician most of his life until he was not able to continue his trade due to illness.

 David and Virgie Jenkins married on July 2, 1993; and in November of 2005, he retired. David had a great love for music and he loved watching WWE wrestling and western movies. His favorite wrestlers were Stone Cold Steve Alston and Rick Flair.

David made his triumphant transition to glory on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Pruitt Health Nursing Home; Ridgeway, SC.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers Samuel Johnson and Clifford Miller; and two sisters Helen T. Gileyard and Maggie Orage. 

David Orage is survived by his loving wife Virgie M. Orage of Ridgeland, SC; daughters Lizzetta Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC Ester(Michael) Cohen of Hilton Head Island, SC, Loretta (Lester) Carr of Hilton Head Island, SC; sons, Calvin (Roseland) Lawyer, of Augusta, Ga; Herbert Jones of Florida;  stepchildren; Darlene (Edgar) Fields of Columbia, SC; Charlene (Eric) Fell of Humble, TX; Cynthia Tyler of Tampa, FL Annette Pritchett of Beaufort, SC; one sister Patsy Orage of Hilton Head Island, SC and one brother Eugene (Georgia Mae) Orage Hilton Head Island, SC; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and caring friends.
