Dorothea, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. Her name means: a gift from God and she has undoubtedly lived a life true to its meaning. Born in 1958, Dorothea lived a life filled with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Ridgeland HS Class Valedictorian, and Homecoming Queen. Studied at Talladega College upon graduation from High School, and Ultimately obtained her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from the Technical College of the
Lowcountry.
A former accountant, Dorothea spent her life filled with love and devotion to her family. Those who were close to Dorothea remember her as kind and always willing to help the ones she loved the most. Dorothea’s devotion extended throughout her family; she resigned working in her chosen career field to become a full time caregiver for her own ailing family members.
Outside of work, Dorothea enjoyed bingo, finding the hidden numbers in her favorite comic Archie, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Blanche Gadson and two brothers Perman Gadson and Ervin Gadson. Dorothea is survived by her older sister Beverly Gadson and three children Virgil Gadson, Rashid Aiken, and Sade Willis; along with her grandchildren Kordell Holley, Rikki Penn, Jade Campbell, and Asada Campbell.
Dorothea Willis, 65, of Savannah, GA, passed away on June 11,2024. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday June 20th at 12 noon at Allen Funeral Home.
