Dorothy Taylor, 97 the daughter of the late Reva Cobb McClenon and Zeb Cobb was born February 22, 1926 in Walterboro, SC. She attended the public schools in Walterboro and Pace College, NY    
    She departed this life on June 19, 2023 in Walterboro, SC.
    Dorothy was united in Holy matrimony to her childhood sweetheart the late Mack Taylor, to this union they were blessed with a son Elijah who preceded them in death.
    In 1945, Deaconess Taylor and her husband moved to Brooklyn, NY where they attended the Calvary Christian Church. While living in NY, she worked as an educator with the Coney Island Association Head Start in Brooklyn, NY.
    More than anything in the world she enjoyed the little children. She believed with all her heart to raise children it takes a village to the end. It was her lifelong mission. She gave love unconditionally she was well loved with all whom she came in contact.    
    Upon returning to South Carolina she joined Greater St. James Church, which is now Saints Center Ministries. She was a Deaconess and a member of the hospitality committee until May 2023. Dorothy is the oldest ever to live as a member of Saints Center. She was also a member of the Home Comers Club in Walterboro
    She departed this life on June 19, 2023 in Walterboro, SC. Preceded her in death was her husband, two sisters and three brothers
    Left with cherished memories of her two sisters: Alma Benson of Walterboro, SC and Bessie Jamison of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, Leon Cobb of Walterboro, SC; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends that loved her very much.
