Edith "Edye" Virginia Simpson, 78, of Walterboro, SC passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Colleton Medical Center. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Walterboro. We welcome you to provide thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Edith Simpson was born December 18, 1942, in Walterboro South Carolina. She was the third child that blessed the union of Sampson Reid Bright & Norine Edith Hosey Bright.
Edith Virginia Bright Simpson affectionately known in the community as “Edye” or “Aunt Edye “was an independent business owner for (50) years. She always welcomed her patrons with a smile.
She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, and crochet and loved looking for treasures in thrift shops. She learned carpentry in her later years at Beaufort Technical College.
After the death of her mother, she accepted Care and guardianship For a special cousin Harold Williams. She also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and a special grand nephew Anthony Jerideau.
She leaves behind her two daughters Margaret Simpson- Sanders (Aristede) of Charleston, South Carolina and Michelle Simpson- Bingley (Ronald) of Walterboro, South Carolina; three brothers, James (Yvonne) Bright of Newark, New Jersey, Matthew (Virginia) Bright and Julius (Betty) Bright both of Walterboro, South Carolina; grandchildren Hermosa and Ezekiel Sanders both of Charleston, South Carolina, Charnauri Simpson, Mariana, Fountaine, Markayla, Ronald Jr., Miracle, Makenna and Howard Bingley all of Walterboro, South Carolina; adoptive daughters, Porscha McMillan of Sequin, Texas, and Sheneka Edwards of Georgia; special nephews, Anthony Jerideau, Julius Bright both of Walterboro, South Carolina, Donnell Bright of New York,Thomas Jerideau of Beaufort, South Carolina; devoted cousins; Helena McMillan and James Mixon of Walterboro South Carolina; her devoted nieces, Wanda Jerideau and Doris Bright both of Walterboro, South Carolina; adopted sons; Quentin John Fishburne and Spencer Roberts both of Ritter, South Carolina.
