A viewing for Mr. Edward Pinckney will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Allen Funeral Home Complex ( 8881 Coosaw Scenic Drive) Ridgeland, SC. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11 o'clock in the morning at Chapel on the Hill Holiness Church in Ridgeland, SC. The interment will follow in Grahamville Cemetery.
Mr. Edward Pinckney was born on November 1, 1918, the only son to Daniel and Isabelle Fripp Pinckney. Edward was educated in the local school of Beaufort County.
Edward was a devout Christian; he was a member of Burton Deliverance Church under Pastor Betty Ferguson.
Edward has held several positions of employment over the years, including that of oyster harvester at Joe Pinckney Oyster Factory; Seaboard Railroad employee at Jasper Station; chauffeur for Chelsea Plantation and for the Marshall Fields family; Stevens Shipping Company employee in Savannah, GA; and Georgia Kaolin employee at Hutchinson Island until his retirement in 1985.
On January 17, 2023, Mr. Edward Pinckney was called from Labor to Reward at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents; Isabelle Fripp and Daniel Pinckney, three sons; Edward Pinckney, Jr., Tommy Pinckney, and Henry Pinckney, one grandson Randolph Pinckney, his first wife Francis McDonald Pinckney, and second wife Louise Habersham Pinckney.
Edward is survived by his children; Wesley (Loretta) Pinckney, Harold (Alice) Pinckney, Melvin Pinckney, and Teresa Nelson Pinckney (Harold), grandchildren; Alesha Pinckney, Wesley Pinckney, Jr. Ann Marie Pinckney Robinson, Linda Gail Howard, Anthony Lamar Pinckney, Cheryl Denell Pinckney Gainer, Harold A. Pinckney, Lacreta Ann Pinckney, Melissa Pinckney, Christopher Pinckney, Londa Nelson Rivers, Selena Nelson, Atiya Johnson , Harold Nelson, Jr., Dorothy Ann Mack (James), Edward Jerome Pinckney Ill, Delores Brown, Valerie Chislom (Norris), and Dottie Bolden.
