Eric Bernard Fripp, age 60, son of Viola Fripp and the late Roosevelt Lee was born on December 9, 1961, in Okatie, SC. Eric graduated from H.E. McCracken High School in Bluffton, S.C. Eric was raised by his aunt Dolly Fripp (Alfred) from the tender age of two, until his untimely death. Eric had a strong love for baseball and music. He was one of the community’s best Disc Jockey. He worked in construction for many years, until he began to work for himself.
On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Eric was called to his eternal home. Eric was preceded in death by his father Roosevelt Lee of Okatie, SC, grandmother Viola B. Fripp of Okatie, SC, sister Shirley Coleman, and close cousin Trudy Gumbs of Okatie, SC.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Viola Fripp of Beltsville, Maryland, daughter Erica Fripp, sisters; Sarah Fripp of Beltsville, MD, Tracie (Brian) Hudson of Severn, MD, half sister Brenda Jenkins of Pembroke, N.J., brother Rudy (Margie) Simmons of Okatie, SC., granddaughters; Mariah and Harmoine Pinckney, one cousin that’s like a brother Terry Fripp of Ridgeland, S.C., Aunts; Dollie Fripp (Alfred Jackson), Martha Major, Anna Bolden all of Okatie, S.C., two uncles; Edward (Betty) Fripp of Savannah, G.A., and Sammy Lee of Pineland, S.C. Eric had close ties to Deaconess Patricia (Deacon Robert) Taylor, Terry Fripp, Gregory Gumbs, Lavern Fripp, Elisha Fripp, Damien Fripp, Deaconess Irish ( Deacon Henry) Bolden, Tammy (Ron) Matis. Eric had a ton of family members, he took under his wings as nieces and nephews including Ebony Fripp, Don Blackshear Jr., Musaoffa and Malcom Driessen, Damiano Coleman, and Quinton Newell. Eric affectionately know as “Stretch”, “slim”, and “E” to many he will be missed.
