Georgia Brown Obituary

Georgia Brown, 68, of Ridgeland, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at Coastal Carolina Hospital. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.

 


vangelist Georgia Lee Perment Brown, daughter of the late Azalee Beard and George Perment was born on July 7, 1952. She was Honorably discharged to the Arms of the Lord on January 8, 2021. 
She attended public schools in Jackson, South Carolina before moving to New York where she finished her secondary education.  
After moving back South, she eventually moved to Gillisonville, South Carolina and began attending Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Faith Church, where she received the Gift of the Holy Ghost and where she met and was embraced by her Spiritual Mother Elder Ella Horton and was treated as a daughter until her death. Evangelist Brown also went on to serve in the capacity of Secretary, Choir Director and Adult Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Calvary PFC. 
After moving to Gillisonville she was employed by The DaVant Plantation as a personal assistant. Her other employment includes Ridgeland Nursing Home and Home Helpers. She also worked in the capacity as a private home helper for many in the community and their loved ones! 
In December, 1975 she was married to Roy Brown, Sr., who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers Harold Campbell and George Perment, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory four sisters Rosetta (Leon) Ryans of Beaufort, SC, Ella Gathers, Memphis, TN, Gwendolyn Adams,   and Dorithia Glover of Dallas, TX, and one brother, Bill Horton, Ridgeland, SC and a Special nephew Marcus (Sharmaine) Ryans, Beaufort, SC. Before he was born, she named him and raised him as her own! Her Goddaughter Sheree Darien as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
