James D. Scott, 63, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his residence in Jesup, Georgia. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home and are pending at this time. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
The visitation for Mr. James D. Scott will be held Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Allen Funeral Home in Ridgeland, SC (8881 Coosaw Scenic Drive). The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at 12 Noon, at Allen Funeral Home in Ridgeland, SC. The Interment will follow in Cook Landing Cemetery.
James Dennis Lee Scott, born on December 7, 1959, to James Scott and Leomia B. Scott in Levy, SC.
He departed this life on December 4, 2023 in Jesup, Georgia. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Vernard Campbell and Herman Campbell, and one sister Brenda Scott Kennedy.
He attended the public schools of Jasper County and graduated with the class of 1978. He was a member of Healing Waters Empowerment Center International Ministries. Dennis attended church faithfully until his health declined. He loved the Lord and could be found doing anything around the church in his efforts to serve and worship God.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Stephanie Scott on February 14, 2009.
Dennis touched the lives of many with his kindness and his smile was contagious. He helped many with his mechanical skills. He had a love for his family and friends and he met no strangers.
James leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Stephanie Scott of Jesup, GA, six children; Chateria (William) Ford of Hardeeville, SC, Chadwick Wallace of Tampa, FL, Rayshawn (Lawanda) Green of Yemassee, SC, Randell (Brittaney) Green of Savannah, GA, Faith Newton of Raleigh, NC, and Randy Green of Jesup, GA, eight grandchildren; Kamerah Green, Randell Green, Jr., Kayden Green, Chance Wallace, Aveah Wallace, Brittin Green, Neriah Gray, and Aravius Ford, seven brothers; Leroy (Geraldine) Bentley, Donald Scott, Vic (Sharron) Scott, David (Lachunna) Scott all of Hardeeville, SC, Rodney (Elaine) Scott of St. Helena Island, Bernard Campbell of Ridgeland, SC, and Tracy (Victoria) Scott of Bluffton, SC, five sisters; Rhashemma Scott, Melissa (Cedric) Knighton both of Hardeeville, SC, Dennis (Aldo) Hernandez, Cynthia Campbell, Willie Mae Campbell all of Ridgeland, SC, one brother-in-law Anthony (Latonia) Ferebee of Columbia, SC two sisters-in-law Tawanna Ferebee of Ludowici, GA, and Yvette Ferebee of Charlotte, NC, three uncles; Otis Bentley of Hardeeville, SC Paul (Sandra) Ferebee of Rock Hill, SC, Curtis (Diane) Ferebee of Augusta, GA, five aunts; Eardell Johnson of Jersey City, NJ, Queen Ester (Tyrone) Griffin of Atlanta, GA, Arlene Ferebee of Ridgeland, SC, Joan Ferebee of Ridgeland, SC, and Jean Ferebee of Rock Hill, SC, along with a host of other family and friends and his Healing Waters Church Family.
