Ms. Janisha Nicole Knox, affectionately known as Nisha, was born March 29, 1984, in Junction City, Kansas. She is the second oldest of five daughters. As a teenager Nisha attended the Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting, in For Worth, TX. She graduated from Andress High School, El Paso, TX, in 2003, and subsequently studied cosmetology at the Tri-State Cosmetology Institute. Nisha was a fashionista and makeup connoisseur. She believed in keeping her hair slayed and her face beat! She was the epitome of the saying, “you don’t have to look like what you’ve been through.”
Growing up Nisha was a responsible and obedient daughter and a great big sister. She was very nurturing, attentive, and helped care for her two baby sisters, Nita & Chayla. She loved all her sisters. Nisha was a daddy’s girl and on occasion said that she was her daddy’s favorite, and all her sisters said, “LOL! That’s debatable.”
Nisha was a sickle cell warrior from birth and fought many painful battles with the disease during her 38 years. She never complained, but always kept a smile on her face. She was saved and baptized at a young age at Zion Temple COGIC, Harker Heights TX, under the leadership of the late Bishop A. Ladell Thomas, Sr. Nisha was a member of Grace & Mercy Outreach Ministries COGIC, Hinesville, GA, under the leadership of her father, Pastor Henry L. Knox, Jr.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Nisha had a talk with Jesus and went home to be with her Savior.
Janisha leaves to mourn her parents, Pastor Henry & Juanzetta Knox of Hinesville, GA, four sisters; Latonja Grate of Latta, SC, Marissa Taylor (Myron) of Lexington, SC, Juanita Knox & Michayla Knox of Hinesville, GA, her niece Miyah, two nephews; Jamarion and Messiah, grandmother Beatrice Geary of Lakeland, FL, grandfather Henry Lee Knox, Sr. of Columbia, SC, three God Sisters; Renaee, Jasmine, and Yvette, and a great host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
