Jerone P. Mears, 78, of Walterboro, passed away on March 4, 2023, at Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.

A visitation for Mr. Jerone P. Mears will be Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Allen Funeral Chapel in Walterboro, SC (1905 Hampton Street) from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Church Cemetery in Islandton, SC. 

Jerone P. Mears was born on February 2, 1945, to the late David Mears, Sr., and Gladys Clayton Mears. He Departed this life on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at the Veteran Victory House in Walterboro, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. 
Jerone was formally educated in the Public School System of Colleton County and later attended Voorhees College in Denmark, SC. At an early age Jerone joined Deep Creek Baptist church.
Jerone volunteered to serve his Country and joined the US Army where he served for four years. Upon completion of active duty, he joined the SC National Guards for an additional 22 years.  He was a loving husband, brother, and friend.
Jerone leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Marie Blanks Mears, four brothers;  David Mears, Jr. (Shirley), Linnon Mears, Kenneth Mears (Marie), Milton Mears (Shermenia), one sister Andrea Kennedy (William deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
