John Glover, 66, of Beaufort, SC passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
A visitation for Mr. John Glover will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Allen Funeral Chapel in Beaufort, SC (1508 Duke Street). The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10:30 in the Morning at Allen Funeral Chapel in Beaufort, SC. The interment will follow in the Beaufort National Cemetery at 12 Noon.
John Henry Glover, son of the late, Richard Glover, Sr. and Clara Brown Glover was born June 12, 1956 on St. Helena Island, SC.
John received his formal education in the Beaufort County Public School System. He was a 1974 graduate of Beaufort High School. He joined the United States Army in 1974 and retired in 1994, serving 20 years.
In June 1975, he married Linda Singleton Glover (divorced). Together, they were blessed with two daughters. John enjoyed having fun with friends and family. His hobbies were cooking, fishing, listening to music watching baseball, playing with his canine companion Sassy. In 2019, John moved to Hinesville, Georgia.
On January 4, 2023, at Savannah Memorial Hospital, Savannah, Georgia, the Lord called John Henry Glover home. John was preceded in death by his parents Richard Glover, Sr. and Clara Glover, his brothers Cleveland Glover and Arthur Lee Glover, and his sister Magalene Glover Middleton.
He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Tenair Glover of Columbia, SC and Janay Glover-Smalls (Aaron) of Beaufort, SC; five grandchildren Amber Glover, Justin Glover Morris and Jordan Glover Morris of Columbia, SC and Cameron Smalls and Jasmine Smalls of Beaufort, SC; brother Richard Glover, Jr. (Darnell) and sister Irene Cohen (Herman) of St. Helena Island, SC; four aunts Thelma Brown, Mary Glover of St. Helena Island, SC, Christina Owens Hailey of Manhattan, NY and Deloris Brown of Bronx, NY; sisters in-law Darnell Glover and Shirley Glover of St. Helena Island, SC, one son-in-law Aaron Smalls of Beaufort, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
