Knequa O. Cohen

Knequa O. Cohen, 38, daughter of Debbie Cohen And Donald Freeman, of St. Helena Island, (Frogmore community), passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort SC. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Allen Funeral Home, in Beaufort, SC.  Graveside Service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Eddings Point Cemetery, St. Helena, Island. Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort is in charge.

Knequa Cohen was born on June 28, 1982, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC.

Knequa graduated from Beaufort High School in 2001.  She later attended Denmark Technical College where she studied Human Services. 

Knequa accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at Jehovah Church of Jesus Christ.  She was the owner of Soulful Candle Scents. Knequa enjoyed music, reading, crafts, decorating, and babysitting. She was a jack of all trades.  She was always one who could give a joke to make everyone laugh. She was a mother/teacher to all children she came in contact with.

Knequa was predeceased by both Grandmothers Bessie Mae Jenkins, and Audrey Freeman, both Grandfathers Chance some Cohen Sr. and John Freeman Sr. Two Aunts Barbara Wiggs and Doris Freeman, One Uncle Sammy Freeman, and Godsister Octavia Shaney Jenkins-Williams.

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Knequa “Kne-Kne” Cohen was called home to glory from Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC.

Knequa “kne-Kne” leaves many to love, cherish and celebrate her life, her mother and father both of St. Helena Island, SC.; A son, Zion Freeman; brother Fleetwood Freeman Sr. and a nephew, Fleetwood Freeman Jr., all of St. Helena Island, SC.; Five aunts, Missonary Leticia (Elder Jason) Washington, Rumelle (Jermaine) Washington, Pearlie (Ronnie) Beasley, Veronica(Marion) Mack of St. Helena Island, SC, Patricia Glover; Seven Uncles, Daniel John Chaplin Jr., Leventis Cohen, Chance some (Tremaine) Cohen, John (Rose) Freeman, Joenathan Freeman, Eric ( Shalonda) Freeman of St. Helena, SC., Rodney (Claudia) Cohen of Durham NC.; a Godmother/Like mother Vivian Jenkins of St. Helena, SC.; Best Friends Elifer Harrell of Atlanta, GA. and Virginia Bradley of St. Helena, SC.; a host of other family members and friends
