Leon Ryans

Mr. Leon Ryans,88, of Ridgeland, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Ridgeland Nursing Facility. He was the husband of Ruth Ryans. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland. 

Brother Leon Ryans was born in Jasper County on July 29th, 1932 to the parents of Johnnie and Rosalee Ryans. He attended the Jasper County School System.  He was a member of Second African Baptist Church of Coosawhatchie, SC.
Leon met and married Ruth Pickney. This union was blessed with 8 children. He was a great provider for his family. His employment included working as a longshoreman and later became employed with the county. Leon enjoyed the outdoor life, which included gardening and fishing.  
Leon entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 14, 2020. He was preceded in death by his son Jacob Ryans, his daughter Alberta Fennell, and his two brothers, Ronald Rett and Mannie Spencer. 
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 64 years Ruth Ryans, children; Leon Ryans Jr (Rosetta), of GraysHill, SC., Shirley Ryans, Larry Ryans, Johnny Ryans, Leroy Ryans (Coronical), of Point South, SC, Joseph Ryans, Of Ridgeland, SC, Denise King, of Gillisonville, SC, and son in law Thomas Fennell of Point South, SC. A host of grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also, relatives, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
