Louis Wallace Obituary

Louis Wallace, of Yemassee, SC passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland.  We welcome you to provide thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.


Louis Wallace born September 14, 1951, to the late Ms. Viola Wallace and the late Frederick Douglas Driskell, Sr. He transitioned on April 14, 2021, at his home in Hendersonville, NC.
Louis received his early education through the New York Public School system and attended Bronx Community College, where he received an Associate Degree in Accounting.
He was employed as a clerk at a medical center, United States Postal Services a mail clerk before being employed by The Liberty Lines Transit Company of Westchester County, New York. He worked for liberty line for 30 years. Retired in 2005, he relocated to Hendersonville, NC.
Louis was a member of Sandford Chapel AME Zion Church in Hendersonville, NC. He was an active member in his local Church as well as on The District. Louis served as Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations, and Photography. He enjoyed doing the work while staying behind the scenes. 
He enjoyed traveling but most of all he loved taking pictures of places that visited and especially of the mountains. He loved his family.
He leaves to carry on his legacy: his wife Violet Wallace of Hendersonville, NC; his children: Louis F. Wallace, of Yonkers, NY; RoiShaud Wallace (Johanna) of Charlotte, NC, his daughter, Malaree R. Wallace of Miami, FL, and their mother, Malqueen Zimmerman; stepdaughter; Alyssa C. Williams of Greensboro, NC, grandsons: Daquan R. Wallace of Greensboro, NC; Anthony Fata of Yonkers, NY, and step-grandson; Sir Josiah Troutman, Greensboro, NC, Brother; Douglas Wallace of Yonkers, NY, the late Kenneth Wallace Davis; sisters: Doris Martindale of Yonkers, NY and Wendi Frolickstein of New Mexico. Special cousin Melvera (Mellie) Barr, of White Plains, New Jersey, step-mother Martha Williams of Fayetteville, NC; father-in-law Thomas Williams of Yemassee, SC, brother-in-law Kardell Ferguson of Yemassee, SC, N. Leon Williams of Ritter, SC, Ronnie Williams of Charleston, SC, Silas Ferguson Yemassee, SC, sister-in-law Lorine Ferguson, Cheryl Ferguson both of Yemassee, SC, Merilyn Williams of Ritter SC, Gwendolyn Williams of Charleston, SC, and Carol E, Phoenix of Brooklyn, NY. A host of Nieces, Nephews family, and friends.
