Lynwood Jenkins. 63, of Ridgeland, SC, transitioned at Hilton Head Hospital on Monday, June 19, 2023,  with his family at his side   Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.  A visitation for Mr. Lynwood Jenkins will be held at First Euhaw Baptist Church Friday June 30, 2023 from 5- 7PM. The Funeral service is scheduled for 12 Noon  Saturday July1, 2023 at Mt Carmel Baptist Missionary Baptist  Center on Bees Creek Road Ridgeland.

Lynwood Jenkins, born October 21,1959 to the late William Fennell and Janie Jenkins, in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Lynwood attended the public school system of Jasper County, South Carolina, Class of 1977 .Lynwood was employed at P.A.I. from 1979 to 1989.On April 26, 1989, Lynwood and Lela Williams were joined into holy matrimony; he later moved to Miami, Florida and was employed at The Golf Club of Miami until 1992, and Turnberry Isles Golf Course maintenance until 2009.

In 2009, Lynwood and his family moved back to Ridgeland, South Carolina; in 2011 he joined and became a faithful member of the First Euhaw Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of Dr.William Allen Galloway; after he returned to South Carolina he became employed at Sun City Golf Course in Okatie, South Carolina until 2011. He was a dedicated husband and father, who loved his family very much. He enjoyed life, spending time with his family, watching football and he was a Dallas Cowboy Fan. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Lynwood transitioned at the Hilton Head Medical Center, Hilton Head Island, S.C.  On Monday, June 19, 2023; surrounded with love and support from his loving family.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted and loving wife, Lela Jenkins, Two daughters, Sharmela Orr, Lynandra Jenkins, Three sisters, Arlene Jenkins, Polly Jenkins, Linda (Hank) Holt; two aunts, Emily Jenkins, Liza Gregory, Three uncles, John Jenkins, Elijah (Jeanette), all of Ridgeland, South Carolina. Herbert (Jennifer) Jenkins of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Two sister in laws, Mrs. Rosa (Larry) Cobbs, and Ms. Lorene Williams of Miami, Florida. Brother in law Leon Williams of Ridgeland, SC Two great aunts, Lawrence, (Rosa), Bowers of Ridgeland, SC and Jane Hicks, of Philadelphia, PA.; One great uncle Johnny Hicks,of Ridgeland,S.C. Three God Children, Ayden Jones, Kamerion Jones, and Xavion Jones of Ridgeland, S.C. Two special cousins, Gloria Jones and Theresa Fuller of Ridgeland, S.C. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
