Mary Brown- Tatum

Mary Brown-Tatum, 76, a native of Hilton Head, SC passed away at her residence in Boston, MA. She was the sister of Laura Brown-Speaks and  Frank Brown. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.

The Funeral Service for Mary Brown-Tatum will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home Complex (8881 Coosaw Scenic Drive) Ridgeland, SC at 11 o'clock in the morning. 

Mary L. Brown was born July 9, 1946 to Hattie Jenkins Brown of Bluffton, South Carolina.
Mary attended the Michael C. Riley High School. At an early age she became a member of Campbell AME Church.
Upon graduation she moved to Maine, shortly after she relocated to Boston, MA and became an employee of John Handcock Insurance Company.
Years Later she started a job driving bus for children with disabilities.  Words will never be able to explain how wonderful she was and how she will be greatly missed; but not forgotten.
On Thursday, January 19, 2023, she was called from Labor to Reward at her home in Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Jack Brown and Jeffery Brown, one sister Rose Mae Collins of Bluffton, SC.
Mary leaves to cherish one sister Laura Brown-Speaks, four brothers; Boston Brown, Redmond and Frank (Anne) of Bluffton, SC, and Joe Louis Nelson of Ridgeland, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
