Marilyn Marie Housey Collins, 46, of Furman, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Augusta Medical Center. She was the wife of  Mr. Richy Collins. Marilyn Marie Collins was born in Beaufort, SC on November 9, 1975 to the late Albert Housey Sr. and the late Bernice Newton Green.
As stated, it takes a village to raise a child. That village was at her grandmother Mary Housey house in Pineland, SC. Marilyn confessed Christ at an early age and joined Good Hope Missionary Baptist church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board until her health declined.
A graduate of Jasper County High School class of 1994, she continued her education at Ashford University and Stafford University. Marilyn had a love for decorating, cooking, and shopping. She was employed at McDonalds in Point South for over 15 years where she held various positions until becoming Store Manager.
Marilyn was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ricky Collins on November 7, 2020.
On Tuesday October 25, 2022, Marilyn gained her wings to eternity at the Augusta University Hospital surrounded by her husband, family, and friends as she took flight. Marilyn touched the lives of many. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Newton-Green, her father Albert Housey Se., maternal grandparents: Cattie and Herbert Newton Sr., and her paternal grandmother Mary Housey.
She leaves behind to cherish her legacy of love her devoted husband, Ricky Collins, Furman, S.C. Daughters: Stardaisha Richardson, Pocataligo, S.C. and Shakira Alexander of the home, Furman, S.C, Step-Father: Samuel Green Pocatalico, S.C., Step-daughter: Brekisha Collins Scotia, S.C., Step-Son: Rickquan Collins Varnville, S.C., Step-Grandson: Kaydance Bostick, Scotia, S.C., Sister: Lisa Housey Hickman (Robert Hickman) Pineland, S.C., Brother: Albert Housey Jr. (Regina) Pineland, S.C., Step-Sisters: Bridgette Housey Hilton Head, S.C., Kiera Darien Atlanta, G.A., Keisha Thomas and Sharleen Green both of Sheldon, S.C, Step-Brothers: Alfredo and Alberto Housey Hilton Head, S.C., Samuel Lee Green, Jr. (Trina) Beaufort, S.C., Cornelius Green (Mimi) Sheldon, S.C, and Stanley Murray, Augusta, G.A., Aunts: Ella Ervin (Johnny) Garnette, S.C. and Cattie Lee Fields(John) Lena, S.C., two special Aunts: Cattie Lee Fields and Ella Wilson Irvin, Uncles: Sam Housey (Janie) Tarboro, S.C., Kenyon Newton (Mary) Nixville, S.C., and Jerome Newton (Estella) Allendale, S.C. Sister-In-Laws: Allean Collins, Deloris Robinson, both of Varnville, S.C. and Millie Collins (Evan) of Hilton Head, S.C., Brother-In-Law: Daniel Collins (Kim), Varnville S.C., God-children Roderick Hickman, RaKeem Hickman, and Jaylin Manigo. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A very special and devoted couple Felicia “Curley” & Jesse “Wendy” Riley.
