Michelle T. Gillyard, 41, of Sumter, SC passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Columbia, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
A visitation for Michelle T. Gillyard is scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2023, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Allen Funeral Home in Walterboro, SC. The Funeral Service will take place Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Saints Center Ministries at 12 Noon.

Michelle Tyesha Gillyard was born on July 21, 1981 at Down State Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York to Geneva Gillyard. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, February 3, 2023 in the Prisma Toumey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina
Michelle attended Allen Memorial A.M.E. Church faithfully with her mother, Geneva Gillyard, until she moved to Sumter, South Carolina. While in Brooklyn, Michelle served faithfully on the choir and participated in the YPD. She served as 1st Vice President - New York Conference
Michelle attended public school at PS 375 Elementary School and Prospect High School in Brooklyn.
While at Allen University, Michelle met her husband, Brandon Cruse. They are the proud parents of Four (4) children, Allennycia Gillyard, Niyanna, Nariah and Brandon, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her, Mother, Geneva Gillyard, Husband, Brandon Cruse; Daughters, Allennycia “NeNe” Gillyard; Niyanna Cruse: Nariah Cruse; a son Brandon Cruse, Jr.; three (3) Sister-in-Laws, Linda (the late Alex) Wright of Bronx, N.Y.; Anissa T. Cruse of Sumter, SC; Latrice (Terence) McClain of Columbia, SC; Three (3) Aunts; Vernice Wright of Paterson, New Jersey; Lucy Mae Wright of Bronx, New York; Fannie (Gerald) Gary of Melbourne, Florida. Six (6) Uncles: Charles (Belinda) Wright of Miami Gardens, Florida; Marion Wright of Cayce, South Carolina; Wesley (Ossie Mae)Wright of Miami Gardens, Florida; Larry Gillyard of Augusta, Georgia; Arthur (Angela) Gillyard of Raeford, North Carolina; Clarence (Retta)Wright of Miami, Florida and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and friends.
