Mrs.Ollie Mae Nelson,70, of Low Bottom, SC passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at her residence on Cuthbert Farm Rd. A viewing will be 5 -7 pm on Friday, September 4, 2020, at Allen Funeral Home Complex. Graveside Service will be Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 11 AM at Low Bottom Cemetery. Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland in charge.
Ollie Mae Nelson was born on February 2, 1950, to the late Mr. Norman and Corine Jenkins Nelson. Ollie Mae Nelson received her formal education in the Beaufort County Public school system, attending Michael C. Riley School.
Ollie Mae Nelson was saved at an early age. She was a loving and faithful member at Beaufort New Church of Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Andrew Mole, Sr. Ollie Mae was a loving person. She touched the lives of many people. Ollie Mae Nelson was very dedicated and faithful to her church and family as well. She loved to attend church regularly and would help anybody she could that was in need. Ollie Mae Nelson worked at Denny’s for many years until her health started to decline.
On Sunday, August 30, 2020, our wise and loving God called Ollie Mae Nelson home to rest peacefully. She was preceded in death by three brothers James (Edith) Jenkins, Norman (Shirley) Nelson, and Stephenie (Thelma) Nelson; four sisters Gladys Nelson, Brinda Nelson, Lottie Mae Jenkins, and Dollie Minis; one uncle Richard (Hannah) Nelson; two aunts Mary Ellen Simmons and Pauline Gore; two nephews Deante Bolden and Gerard Nelson; two nieces Rhonda Brown and Sonia Jenkins.
Ollie Mae Nelson, leaves to cherish her memories the children she helped raise, Vonetta (Anthony) Kelly, Corine (Richard) Jenkins, Taliah (Kyle) Jabar, Derald (Rhonda) Nelson, Dominique Nelson, Roy Nelson, Latroy Nelson, Jermasha Nelson, and Shawn Nelson all of Ridgeland, SC; two sisters, Shirley Jones and Annette Nelson, both of Ridgeland, SC; two brothers Silas Nelson of NJ and Paul Nelson of NYC; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends to include a special friend, Sister Thelma “Maude” Byas of Hilton Head Island, SC and niece Valene Minis.
