Paulette Frazier Obituary

Anetha Paulette Frazier, 68, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.

Anetha Paulette Frazier, daughter of the late Elizabeth Frazier-Stewart and O’Neil Gaston was born on May 4, 1952 in Ridgeland SC. Everyone knew her as Paulette. She was raised by the late Nathaniel Frazier Sr. and Beatrice Frazier-Wade.  She graduated as an honor student from Jasper High, Class of 1970.  She was baptized as a youth and became a member of St Paul Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

Paulette received her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate in the early 1980s.  She loved caring for the geriatric community. She worked as a nursing assistant at the Ridgecrest Nursing Center, Ridgeland, SC for ten years. Paulette continued her nursing profession for many years at Cypress Retirement Home, Hilton Head SC.  She also worked at Hilton Head Hospital and Beaufort Memorial ICU units. Paulette was working as a home health care provider when her illness struck.

She loves spending time with her family especially her child ren and grandchildren.  However, the apple of her eye was her great-grand son. Paulette loved sewing, cooking, and crabbing.  She was also known as the “Marsh-Hen” or “The Crab Lady.”  She would always have a meal on the stove and never turned anyone away if hungry.  You can always find some type of seafood in her house.  Friends and family would always contact her to locate seafood for them especially during holidays.  She’s also known to make a mean sweet potato pie which is often a request by many.  We can only hope her kids will continue her food legacy.  She enjoyed singing and traveling with the Low Country Mass Choir where she sang tenor.

She lost the month-long battle to the nefarious criminal call known as COVID.  She gained her wings February 1, 2021 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Those left to cherish in her memories include her daughters: Sharon Frazier of Phoenix, AZ and Karen Frazier of Ridgeland SC; son, Aaron Knowles-Frazier (India) of Sheldon, SC; four grandchildren: Zoey and Corey Frazier, Kyler and Aaron Knowles-Frazier Jr.; one great grand son: Kayden Frazier-Davis; five bothers: Kenneth Gaston (Brenda) of New Bern, NC, Nolan Stewart (Bernita) of Newark, NJ, Darrell (Veronica) and Rodney Gaston, Darien Gaston-Graham, all of Phila, PA; four sisters: Denise Gaston, Angela Valentine both of Phila, PA, Theresa Gillespie (John) and Robin Stewart of Newark, NJ. Paulette is the heart of her aunts and uncles especially Leo Gaston, Jr of Coosawhatchie, SC, Barbara Mike of Phila, PA and Isadora Patterson (Joe) of Myrtle Beach, SC.; a multitude of niece, nephews, cousins and many friends.
