Richard "Rick" Glover III Obituary

We deeply regret to announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Glover III age 47, born on August 18, 1976, and departed from us on May 24, 2024. A devoted husband, father, and craftsman, Richard was best known for his warm, prompt, polite, and charming personality.

Rick was born in Manhattan, NY, and spent much of his growing years with his immediate and extended families in NY, Louisiana, Texas and South Carolina. He later resided in New Orleans, Louisiana where he attended Southern University. Rick has been a resident of North Plainfield since 2014 when he and his wife Marie began to raise their family.

Rick worked as an engineer for Tropicana Products Inc. in Jersey City for nearly 20 years, where he was an exemplary employee. “Richie” as he was known by his colleagues, was loved by everyone for his wit and overall work ethic.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Glover; children, Peyton, Victoria, and Richard IV; parents, Flora Jean Cummings and Richard Glover Jr. (Darnell); siblings, Yolanda Johnson, Rayshell Anthony (Marcus), Tracey Glover, Shayna Cunningham and Terrell Glover (Tiffani); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other extended family members and friends in Texas, New Jersey, New York, Louisiana, and South Carolina.

Rick was a beloved figure, his life enriched by his children, Peyton, Victoria "Tori", and Richard "RJ" Glover, IV - his greatest and proudest accomplishments. Being a father brought him immense joy, which was evident in his every interaction with them.

A true New Yorker with Southern roots, Rick was a firm believer in the golden rule, 'Do unto others as you'd have done upon you.' It was a principle he lived by, and it was evident in his kindness and generosity. Whether through his word or deed, Rick never hesitated to give of himself without reservation. His absence will be deeply felt by those whose lives he touched.

Rick was a remarkable individual, known for his warm personality and charming nature. Rick leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will be cherished by all who knew him. His dedication as a husband, father, son, brother and craftsman was truly inspirational. His impact on those around him was profound, and he will be dearly missed.
