Ruth Jamison

Ruth Fryar Jamison was born July 12, 1936 in Ruffin, SC, to Mr. Elijah Fryar, Sr. and Hattie R. Fryar. She attended the public schools of Colleton County. 

Ruth was married Mr. Heber Jamison, Sr. of Islandton, SC. To this union six children were born. 

Ruth enjoyed cooking for her family, but most of all she loved watching Family Feud with Steve Harvey. She was a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. 

On Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Summerville Community Hospice House in Summerville, SC. Mrs.  Ruth was called from labor to reward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband;  son, Randy Jamison; sister; Minnie L. Yates; brothers: Aurthur L. Fryar, Elijah Fryar, Jr., Cleo Fryar, Benjamin Fryar, James Fryar and David L. Fryar. Ruth will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Ruth leaves to cherish her precious memories to: two sons: Heber (Belinda) Jamison, Jr. and Derrick (Helen) Jamison all of Islandton, SC; three daughters: Sheron Jamison of Islandton, SC, Alinda Jamison of Walterboro, SC and Terri (Wayne) Smalls of St. Helena Island, SC; one step daughter: Angela (Bernard) Walker of Ruffin, SC; eight grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

 Funeral Service Tuesday July 30, 2024 at 11AM  at Deep Creek Baptist Church in Islandton, SC, Burial to follow in Deep Creek Cemetery, Islandton SC
