Sister Georgia Fields, 70, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Tuesday, March 9. 2021, at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC. Services are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.
Georgia Mae Fields was born June 8, 1950 in Bluffton, SC to the late Anna Jane and Abraham Jenkins Sr. She was raised by her grandparents the late William “Toy” and Alice Fields.
Georgia began her education in the Beaufort County School system. She made the selfless act of put her education on hold to not only help care for her siblings but the community children, run away kids as well.Thirty years later she recieved her GED and attended TCL and recieved her early childhood certification, she would always say it’s not how you start or stop it’s how you finish”.
Georgia was employed at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center as an environmental service department lead before her health failed.
Sister Georgia had her own cheerful and consistently loving way of greeting as she entered the church saying, “Praise the Lord Everybody”. At First Zion Baptist church she helped organize the Youth Black History program, The Youth Usher Ministry and trained many of the youth to become faithful and well trained in that ministry. She was a member of the usher auxiliary and served on the pastor’s aide committee.
On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 Sister Georgia obeyed God’s call and went from labor to reward.
She leaves to cherish: her children Christopher Fields, Mableton Georgia, Jennifer Fields(Jefferson Isaac), sisters; Mary Lee Fields, Jeanette (James) Cooper, Lille Mae Ruegg, Sadie Jenkins, Felicia Wright, brothers; Harold Jenkins (Andrea), Leroy Jenkins (Juanita) Robert Lee Jenkins, Earl Jenkins (Helena), Larry Jenkins (Joanne), grandchildren; Wakima Fields, Christona Fields, Kaphadra Stevens, Gabrielle Fields, Zoey Fields, Kayden Heyward, Breyana Baker, Khadijah Muhammad great grands; Amiya Belton, Mi’Yanna Wilkes, Prynce Williams, Kahlani Muhammad god sons; Phillip and Shawn Mitchell, Mark Haynes, Marvin Haynes, Morris Fields, Melvin Fields, god daughter; Erica Jeffries,Shannon Fields best friends; Polly Frazier Debra Patterson, Eliza Ford, sister in law(s); Mariah Fields, Ruth Fields, Sylvia Jenkins, numerous family and friends, First Zion Church, Bible Baptist Church family.
