Thelma Ruth Richardson a native of Walterboro, South Carolina was born January 24, 1938, to Mattie Richardson and Ernest Richardson.
Thelma attended the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School; she was active in cheerleading. After graduating in 1953, Thelma worked for the Colleton Hospital for many years. She later moved to New York where she worked in Laundry Service. Thelma quickly rose to the position of manager and after 33 years of service, she retired and relocated to her home of Walterboro, South Carolina.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, God being too wise to make a mistake and too just to be unkind, sent his angels to PruittHealth Nursing Facility in Walterboro, SC, to bring His child, Thelma Ruth Richardson to her heavenly home. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by one brother: Ernest Richardson, Jr.; son in law: Tyrone Thomas. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Thelma Ruth Richardson leaves to cherish her fondest memories and legacy to her daughter, Laura Ann Thomas; three grandchildren: Myricc (Kendra) Thomas, Jamie (Joclin) Thomas and Terrance (Ashley) Thomas; six great-grandchildren: Sheteia, Jade, Dasia, Jania, Jaslin, Jonaven, and Kali; host of loving family and caring friends also to include three special friends.
