Trudy Fripp-Gumbs Obituary

Trudy J. Fripp-Gumbs, 61, of Okatie, SC passed away May 14, 2021, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. She was the wife of Gregory Gumbs and the daughter of Dollie Fripp. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland and are pending at this time. Trudy Jean Fripp, was born to Dolly Fripp and the late Frank Brown on February 18, 1960. She Graduated June 3rd, 1977, from H.E. McCracken High School. At an early age she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. On February 14, 1995, Trudy was joined in Holy Matrimony to Gregory Gumbs. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry as a guest service receptionist. In her later days, she visited various churches for praise and worship.
 On Friday May 14, 2021, Trudy went to her eternal home as she passed away peacefully at Candler Medical Center in Savannah, GA.
Trudy was proceeded in death by her father Frank Brown, grandmother Viola Fripp and her goddaughter Ivory Newell-Maize. Trudy will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her. 
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Greg Gumbs, her son Damien Fripp , her granddaughter Damique Fripp , two step daughters, Inca Walton and Linda James, her mother Dolly Fripp (Alfred Jackson), one sister Deaconess Patricia (Deacon Robert) Taylor, two brothers Terry Fripp, and Frankie Taylor, one cousin that’s like a brother Eric Fripp, two aunts Martha Major  and Viola Fripp, one uncle Edward (Betty) Fripp, one niece Elisha Fripp, one nephew Robert Taylor Jr., five grand nephews, Don Blackshear Jr., Mustoffa Driessen, Malcolm Driessen, Damiano Coleman, and Robert Taylor III,  one grandniece Ryan Taylor and two great- grand nieces, Nala and Kiara Driessen, three special family members, whom she was close to, Lavern Fripp, Deaconess Irish (Henry) Bolden and Tammy (Ron) Mathis. Trudy had a special nephew Don Blackshear Jr., whom she loved with no limits. She also had a host of family members, that adopted her as “Aunty Trudy”, Ebony Fripp, Quentin Newell, Tymaurion Brown, Ivorian Jones, Sharrionna Jones, Olivea Mitchell, Zharionna Maize, Deshon Ward, Nolji Dupont, and FaRell Adki.
