Vernesha Monique Denise Holmes, 21, a native of St. Helena Island, SC passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Vernesha Monique Denise Holmes affectionally known as “Nesha” to family and friends was born October 25, 2000 to Veronica D. Holmes and Teron Smalls in Beaufort, SC and grew up on St. Helena Island, SC. She recieved her formal education in the Beaufort County public school systems.
Vernesha began religious at Brick Baptist Church on St. Helena Island at an early age. On May 9, 2019 she was blessed with a prince RaQuan Samuel Holmes. She loved music and enjoying time with her siblings and son.
She surrendered to the Almighty God on February 27, 2022 at 9:00 PM at Wellstar Cobb Hospital as she transitioned to her heavenly home. God was gracious and merciful to not allow her to continue in her suffering. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Vernesha is preceded in death by her great grandma Estella J. Holmes, and grandma Rosalyn Glover.
She leaves to mourn her and cherish her memory her mother Veronica D. Holmes, father Teron Smalls, one son RaQuan Samuel Holmes, three sisters Jhaniya Stella Williams, Shaniya Lenoraa Black, and Angela Holmes, all of St. Helena Island, SC, three brothers Antonio Ramon Williams Jr., Dashawn Elijah Holmes, and Antwain Lamont Blake Jr., all of St. Helena Island, SC, grandparents Sandra Holmes, Melvin Holmes Sr. and Robin Holmes, special cousin Jalil Holmes, special friend Mecca Major, Special aunt Carolyn Badger Holmes, and Prestine Alexader, special uncle Henry Holmes, aunts Brittany Holmes, Andrea Fripp, Amanda Vaietin, Latoya Simpskins Briana Cohen, Tiffany Green, uncles; Ahmad Holmes, Melvin Holmes Jr. , Brendon Holmes (Kiyaute Holmes), William Valentin, Benjamin Holmes, a special friend Benjamin Heyward, along with a host of other relatives, family and friends.
