Virginia Bryant Pursley, 74, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our Tribute Wall.
Virginia Bryant Pursley was born November 2, 1946, to the late Daisy Bell and Toney Bryant, Sr. in Ridgeland, SC. She was raised and educated in Jasper County, South Carolina.
She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and became a member of Second Euhaw Baptist Church Grahamville, where she enjoyed serving the Lord.
Virginia was employed by the Jasper County School District in 1967 working in the cafeteria for many years, priors to transferring to the Janitorial division and she worked there until she retired in 2009.
Virginia later moved her membership to Bibleway Holiness Church in Ridgeland, South Carolina under the leadership of Elder Ulmer Terry. She served as church secretary and was also a member of the choir. Sister Virginia Bryant Pursley was elevated to Evangelist after the passing of Elder Terry, she served faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Hunter. Virginia lived a great life, she enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was known for baking good cornbread and stuffing.
On Monday, January 25, 2021, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Evangelist Virginia Bryant- Pursley was called from labor to her reward, she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Toney Bryant Jr., Marie Bryant Esaw, Maimie Bryant Taylor, Eugene Bryant Benjamin Bryant, and Advina Moore.
Evangelist Virginia Bryant Pursley leaves to cherish her loving memories: four children; Shirley Bryant Middleton, Melvita Campbell, Tshombe Pursley, and Constonza (Michael) Wallace; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special niece: Elizabeth Bryant; special granddaughter: Danielle Wallace; three godchildren to include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church members.
DUE TO COVID-19, AND IN AN EFFORT TO FOLLOW DHEC GUIDELINES, THE FAMILY ASKS THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM VISITING THEM AT THEIR HOMES, BUT KEEP THEM IN PRAYER.
"VISITATION: Friday, January 29, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Allen Funeral Complex (Ridgeland, SC) Due to COVID-19 restrictions, seating capacity for the funeral will be limited. However, family members will be seated first the remaining seats will be for friends of the family. CDC guidelines for face coverings and social distancing will be in practice. If you are sick, have any symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please do not attend any of the services. Internet live-streaming will be available."
