Wilbur Beaton, 80, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away on March 3, 2023, at Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
A visitation for Mr. Wilbur Beaton will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 6 PM to 7 PM at Allen Funeral Home in Ridgeland, SC (8881 Coosaw Scenic Drive). The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 11 o'clock in the morning at the St. Luke Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC (3048 Snake Rd). Burial will follow in the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC (1601 Boundary Street).
Mr. Wilbur Beaton was born on January 12, 1943, to Elvin Beaton and Lille Mae Dyson in Ridgeland, SC. He was a graduate of Jasper County High School class of 1961. After high school he served in the US Army. Wilbur later moved to New York City where he was employed at Columbia University for several years before returning back to South Carolina to join his brothers Robert and Elvin at Beaton Service Station.
Wilbur was a member at First Heyward Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC. He loved having bible discussions with uncle joe. He was an avid CNN watcher and a true historian. Wilbur was loved by anyone who knew him and will truly be missed.
On Friday, March 3, 2023, Wilbur was called from labor to reward. He is preceded in death by his grandson Sterling Jenkins, sisters; Mary Beaton Smith and Viola Gregory, brothers; Jack, Robert, Elvin and Bramfort Beaton.
“Kool” as he was affectionally called by his loving family leaves to cherish precious memories his daughter Kim Jenkins Washington, brother Joe Louis Beaton, sister Ethel Anderson both of Ridgeland, SC, a son-in-law Herbert Washington, grandchildren; Sitiera Jenkins of Columbia, SC, ShaVonte Jenkins of Jamaica Queens, NY and Robert Evans of Summerville, SC, three great grands; Jamel, Alana, and Avian, step daughter Nicole Copeland of Columbus, GA, three sisters-in-law; Narazine Beaton, Dorothy Beaton, and Mary Beaton all of Ridgeland, SC, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
