Wilbur Wiggins, 85, of Walterboro, SC passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, at Memorial Health, Savannah, GA. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. Mr. Wilbur Emerold Wiggins was born October 27, 1936 to Otis and Minnie J. Wiggins in Ashton, SC.
He attended the public schools in Colleton County and graduated from Voorhees College in Denmark, SC. He also served in the US Army from 1955-1958.
At an early age, he joined McCune Branch Baptist Church in Lodge, SC.
He was united in holy matrimony to Wilhelmina Morris this union was blessed with over 45 years of marriage. He was a master carpenter and worked until his health began to fail. He enjoyed telling jokes and spending time with his family.
On Monday, October 3, 2022 at Savannah Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA, Wilbur was called from labor to reward. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilhelmina M. Wiggins; a sister: Clio McAuley; five brothers: Joe Frank, Bernard, Herbert, Sr., Charlie Watson and Palmer Wiggins. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories: ten nieces: Debbie (Tariq) of Jacksonville, FL, Melissa, Mushell, Patricia (Darryl), Penny, Shirley Wiggins, Vanessa Wiggins, Eevon Wiggins, Carolyn (Joe) Sankitts and Sabrina Wiggins; nine nephews: Danny (Margaret), Ricky, Dewayne, Troy, Gregory, Michael (Annette), Vernon McAuley, Charlie Wiggins, Herbert (Aletha) Wiggins and Ronald Wiggins; to include his caregiver: Ms. Mary Grant and his nephew; Troy E. Smith that resided in his home; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
