Mr. Winfred “Winnie” Strobhart, of Ridgeland, SC was called home from his labor to his reward on June 9, 2022 at his residence. Winnie was born on April 4, 1962 in Ridgeland, SC to the Late Willie Strobhart, Jr. and the late Maybelle Orr-Strobhart. Winnie was the youngest of their six children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Middleton.
Winnie attended the public schools of Jasper County. He worked most of his life for the South Carolina Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator. He later went to work for RSI of Bluffton for a number of years before taking a job with Jasper County, doing what he loved, operating heavy machinery. He followed in his father’s footstep with his love and expertise with heavy equipment. Through this passion, he won several Heavy Equipment Championships at the South Carolina State Heavy Equipment Rodeos.
To know Winnie was to love his easy going nature. He was seemingly not bothered by anything or anyone. He went about his business being himself. He loved to cook on the grill and would never miss a good cookout. Winnie was crazy about his family and had a special bond with all of them. The youngest among the family, thought he was one of the coolest person alive with his own unique style.
